Computer DVD Firmware Updates
Since there are so many different makes and models of CD/DVD drives, I’ll just give the generic overview of how to update your drive. First, download DiscInfo to determine what version firmware you have. Then type in your model number at The Firmware Page. Why would you want to upgrade. For me, I know that I had a few disc types that would fail when I burned. Upgrading the firmware usually fixed it.
Lightscribe Update
The main update here is just support for new drives. But, if you haven’t updated your software since last summer, you might want to get this update. For those that don’t know, this software is for CD/DVD burners that can burn images/text to the logo side of special discs. For examples of what the discs can look like, go here to view the gallery.
